GPA Requirements

Can I use a weighted GPA to qualify for the SD Opportunity Scholarship?   If my school only has a weighted GPA on my transcript, how is my application handled?

The SD Opportunity Scholarship, per state law, requires a GPA on a 4.0 scale - this means the GPA must be between 0.00 and 4.00, be unweighted and may not include bonus points.   Because your GPA is above 4.00, your GPA does not fit this criteria.   Please check your transcript for an UNWEIGHTED GPA.   If your transcript does not include an UNWEIGHTED GPA, please reach out to your high school to get this included.  

Any weighted GPA's on the SD Opportunity Scholarship application may be recalculated based on the below scale.
