Reduced Tuition for Eligible Educators

The purpose of this service is to provide a resources to educators. Reduced tuition originated for certified South Dakota teachers who due to their position were required as a condition of employment, administrative rule, or state law to take continuing education. The current law provides that Head Start Teachers, K-12 Teachers, Vocational Instructors, and School Counselors may request reduced tuition.

Application Process

  1. Apply using the new application for reduced tuition for teachers (Select Submit Application Here located on the top right of screen)

  2. Employer verifies employment

  3. University audits application

  4. University verifies teaching certificate type and status with DOE’s database

  5. University registers teacher for courses (if not registered)
