What are the requirements for continuing eligibility to maintain my scholarship?

Continuing Eligibility Requirements

After a South Dakota high school graduate becomes an Opportunity Scholarship recipient, he/she must meet a number of continuing eligibility requirements each semester.

  1. Maintain a cumulative 3.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale

  2. Meet Credit Thresholds

    1. 30 credits prior to the 3rd semester

    2. 60 credits prior to the 5th semester

    3. 90 credits prior to the 7th semester

  3. Maintain continuous enrollment

Any recipient that fails to meet requirement 1, may re establish eligibility by raising the cumulative grade point average to 3.0 or greater. The student forfeits any funding for terms that the requirement is not met.

Any recipient that fails to meet requirements 2 or 3 will become permanently ineligible for further funding.
